A GENERAL OVERVIEW-
The year 2024 brings an energy of increased activity and encounters.
The central theme is of power, control and management.
Monetary/material matters are also highlighted through the year.
On a deeper level, the focus would be towards testing one’s strength and powers of endurance.
Additionally one’s ability to take charge and extend a helping hand to one and all, come to the fore.
One may now say that the introspective period, predominant in 2023, takes on an active role in 2024.
Whatever learnings may have happened at that time would now “ideally” be put to ‘good’ use in 2024. (Perhaps in a way that may be beneficial to all).
IMPORTANT PERIODS IN THE YEAR 2024-
MERCURY (SEEMINGLY) CHANGES DIRECTION
The year 2024 begins with the planet Mercury going (seemingly) direct on the 1st/2nd of January.
After the revisions, repairs, returns, delays, sudden relapses & miscommunications etc. of December 2023, (when mercury was seemingly retrograde), matters now begin to move forward. The early days of January are also a time to tie up loose ends. For, as the first New Moon of the year occurs on January 11th 2024, it would signify a time of new beginnings thereafter.
In the year 2024, the Mercury retrograde themes are repeated thrice more. These time periods are (with effects beginning approx a couple of weeks prior)-
April 1st-April 25th, August 5th-August 28th, November 25th-December 15th.
THE ECLIPSES-
Overall, the most intense periods of the year tend to be the time of the eclipses.
During the first half of the year-
A Lunar eclipse occurs on March 25th in the sign of Libra (tropical zodiac).
A Solar eclipse occurs on April 8th in the sign of Aries (tropical zodiac).
During the second half of the year-
A Lunar eclipse occurs on September 17th/18th in the sign of Pisces (tropical zodiac).
A Solar eclipse occurs on October 2nd in the sign of Libra (tropical zodiac).
These are potent periods in 2024, generating impactful, long term effects overall.
THE JUPITER-URANUS CONJUNCTION
Additionally, on April 20th, a Jupiter-Uranus conjunction occurs in the sign of Taurus (tropical zodiac).
This planetary aspect happens approximately every 14 years.
The significance of this could likely play out (for better or worse) as an expansive, radical growth. It could also relate to a sudden shift, change or breakdown of the old to bring in the new…technology perhaps being at the centre of it all.
As Jupiter amplifies whatever it touches, it would likely expand whatever the prevalent energies of that time period are. This would be in relation to the planet Uranus…
One may bear in mind the key words for Uranus- Radically shifting/ changing, unconventional, free spirited, innovative, progressive, futuristic, revolutionary, societal oriented, including scientific breakthroughs…
To understand some of the events that took place during past Jupiter-Uranus conjunctions, one may go further back in time-
When the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction occurred in July 1969, Neil Armstrong became the first person to step onto the moon…
And going to its last occurrence in 2010/2011-
Apple released its first iPad…(one example alongside many other breakthroughs).
PLUTO GOES (SEEMINGLY) RETROGRADE-
In April, around the same time as the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction, the Plutonic energies of transformation are emphasised. This makes this time period even more intense and impactful.
The intensity happens due to the slowing down of the planet Pluto in April, as it prepares to turn (seemingly) retrograde in early May.
(Pluto enters the Uranian sign of Aquarius (tropical zodiac) in Jan 2024).
Society, science and technology now take on a new meaning, perhaps creating a whole new way of life and living.
On a personal level, at this time, one may perhaps experience deeply transformative shifts. (perhaps relating to matters that would have likely begun around the same time a year ago).
On a world level, there may be societal changes and major technological happenings. (perhaps relating to events of a year ago).
SATURN AND NEPTUNE GO (SEEMINGLY) RETROGRADE (around the same time)-
Towards the end of June, early July, both Saturn and Neptune appear to slow down to change direction around the same time,
Hence, the Saturnian themes of structure, duty, work, government, authority and endurance, tend to get highlighted.
Alongside this, the mystical, artistic, imaginative, intuitive, compassionate and sensitive Neptunian themes are emphasised. This would also include the cloudy, unstable and dissolving qualities of the planet as well.
Interestingly the qualities of both these planets are completely opposite to each other. Hence, “Balance” may be the keyword here, on one level. Yet events may play out in ways that one may not be able to fathom (as is the nature of Neptune)… which means “Faith” may be the answer.
MARS GOES (SEEMINGLY) RETROGRADE-
Finally, the year concludes with the planet Mars going (seemingly) retrograde on December 6th. This is when the qualities of aggression, passion and the physically active side of life would require some form of reorientation. For a feeling of repression in some way may prevail.
The effects of the Mars retrograde motion begin a few weeks prior. Perhaps it may bring about a need to slow down and take stock of what was and what is…
For, 2025 is a year that marks a turning point and a time of culminations.
TO CONCLUDE—
On the matter of Health, the prevalent energies in 2024 would feel more harmonious with the aid of pranayama and meditation. Deep breathing techniques would help to balance the energies within and bring a sense of calmness amidst all the ongoing activities. It would also aid in maintaining one’s strength and powers of endurance, while alleviating anxiety and stress.
In addition, the words of Nisargadatta Maharaj helps to highlight the way of harmony, as one navigates through the maze in the year 2024-
“You can do nothing. What time has brought about, time will take away……
All that happens, happens in and to the mind, not to the source of the “I am”. Once you realise that all happens by itself (call it destiny, or the will of God, or mere accident), you remain as witness only, understanding and enjoying, but not perturbed……
You are responsible only for what you can change. All you can change is only your attitude. There lies your responsibility.”
(“I Am That” (451) – Nisargadatta Maharaj)
In Gratitude…
Wishing all a Blessed 2024!
