The Full Moon of October 1st/2nd 2020 –
October begins with a full moon, occurring on the 1st/2nd of the month. At this time one’s relationships are highlighted. The focus is on healing and harmony towards one’s well being. It is not a very easy time as there would be deep seated emotional issues that would need to be released in order to bring about a sense of balance.
As full moons represent a time of culmination, this time would indicate the end of one phase and the beginning of another. When the new moon on October 16th/17th occurs, the new phase would begin. This time is auspicious, with prayer and contemplation, towards the realisation of one’s dreams. The key here is surrendering to the One Supreme Universal Spirit.
“When a number of people are asleep, each dreams his own dream. Only on awakening the question of many different dreams arises and dissolves when they are all seen as dreams, as something imagined.”(“I Am That” Nisargadatta Maharaj)
The New Moon of October 16th/17th –
As the new moon dawns mid month, the planetary configurations continue to be intense. On the world stage, the indications seems to show a dissonance between oneself, others and the prevailing authorities.
Health matters too, continue to be of prime concern. Care must be taken.
Therefore, Meditation plays a vital role towards balance and harmony.
“Like the practice of breath-control. meditation on the forms of God, repetition of mantras, restriction on food, etc., are but aids for rendering the mind quiescent.”
“As the meditation on the Self rises higher and higher, the thoughts will get destroyed.”
“In order to quieten the mind one has only to inquire within oneself what one’s Self is…”(Ramana Maharishi – Nan Yar, “Who Am I” v. 12/13/23)
The Planetary alignments –
In relation to the planetary alignments of the month, as the planet of transformation, Pluto, slows down to (appear to) turn direct on the 5th of October, the few days prior to that would tend to create an intensity in situations, overall.
For some, this may be a beneficial time and for some it may be difficult, but for everyone it would be transformative, in one way or another.
Simultaneously, the planet Mars begins to create a difficult alignment with Pluto, in its apparent retrograde motion, peaking on the 9th of the month.
From the point of view of the world, it may indicate tensions between the individual and the authorities in some way. It may also be connected to events that occurred in the month of August.
In addition, regarding all forms of communication, the next few weeks bring a great deal of back and forth, changes, re-doings, returns and reconnections, with these energies peaking by the 14th of the month.
This indicates that this time period is more conducive towards anything that requires re-looking into as opposed to new ventures, endeavours or purchases. This goes all the way till November 4th, when things again begin to move forward.
Therefore, during this current time period, till early November, some changes, reversals and reworkings are bound to happen.
The Full Moon of October 31st –
The next full moon occurs at the end of October, creating two full moons in the same month. This time, the concern seems to be on financial matters, investments, one’s earnings and values.
A sudden change in these areas would seem to be inevitable, at this time.
Therefore, the question would arise as to how does one maintain a sense of equilibrium in all these varying scenarios…
Nisargadatta Maharaj says, “Look at yourself steadily — it is enough. The door that locks you in, is also the door that lets you out. The ‘I am’ is the door. Stay at it until it opens. As a matter of fact, it is open, only you are not at it. You are waiting at the non-existent painted doors, which will never open.”(“I Am That” – Nisargadatta Maharaj)
In Conclusion –
Look out for the signs. The Universe constantly sends out messages, one way or the other, which acts as a guidance. Being Aware is key.
“Let anything happen — good or bad. But don’t let yourself be submerged by what happens….The mind must learn that beyond the moving mind there is the background of awareness, which does not change.” – Nisargadatta Maharaj
The song “Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head” echoes the sentiments of the times and brings an encouraging perspective to it all –
Raindrops keep falling on my head
But that doesn’t mean my eyes will soon be turning red
Crying’s not for me
‘Cause I’m never gonna stop the rain by complaining
Because I’m free
