Reflections
The month of November 2020 begins with the world waiting with abated breath. This would be in relation to certain outcomes on the political front and in governmental matters.
Based on the planetary alignments, with the planet mercury (seemingly) stationary at the moment and getting ready to go direct on the 4th of November, any outcomes would not be as clear at this time. For changes or delays would be inevitable in some way.
Health matters continue to be a concern especially during the first half of the month. At this time the planet Mars has begun to slow down, ready to (seemingly) turn direct on the 14th of the month.
As this timing coincides with the new moon on November 15th, it is therefore an important time to look out for the signs. A period when one needs to pay close attention to the matters of the world.
The New Moon of November
November 15th ushers in the new moon of the month.
On a personal level, the new moon of November 15th is a favourable time overall, where wisdom, structure, discipline and deep change are concerned, including one’s personal values and one’s earnings.
At this time, some matters would seem to be kept under wraps, coming to light towards the end of the month, when the full moon occurs. These hidden matters may be favourable in relation to authority figures, foreign matters and the government and, in some way, being transformative in nature.
A Lunar Eclipse occurs towards the end of the month, a time of great significance. The days leading up to the lunar eclipse would bring these matters towards some conclusion.
The Lunar Eclipse
A penumbral lunar Eclipse occurs on November 30th 2020, highlighting a potent and important period based on current events.
A penumbral lunar eclipse occurs when the Sun, Earth, and the Moon are imperfectly aligned. When this happens, the Earth blocks some of the Sun’s light from directly reaching the Moon’s surface and covers all or part of the Moon with the outer part of its shadow, also known as the penumbra. Since the penumbra is much fainter than the dark core of the Earth’s shadow, the umbra, a penumbral eclipse of the Moon is often difficult to tell apart from a normal Full Moon.

It is a period with an emphasis on personal communication, and matters connected to education, travels, close relations and the community. This would be in opposition to the broader picture, where the spotlight would be on legal and foreign matters.
Additionally, the focus of this lunar eclipse is on Healing. Hence, the eclipse brings in an opportune time to heal the pain and sadness that may have been experienced in the past several months or, perhaps, years.
Positive communication, that would be transformative in nature, is highlighted at this time, especially those involving the youth.
Furthermore, perhaps the beginning of some breakthrough in relation to the current health crisis may be known in some way, which may be fully revealed at a later date.
Now is the time to take on the responsibility of serving and caring for others. This month carries the energy of Nurturing one another… playing the role of Mother to each other. (For, December brings a different story of introversion, solitude and contemplation).
Ramakrishna Paramhansa says – “Brahman (the Absolute) alone is addressed as the Mother. This is because a mother is an object of great love. One is able to realize God just through love. Ecstasy of feeling, devotion, love, and faith-these are the means.”
“This attitude of regarding God as Mother is the last word in sadhana. “O God, Thou art my Mother and I am Thy child”-this is the last word in spirituality.”
(Excerpts from The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna – by Swami Nikhilananda)
The song “Words” by the Bee Gees, does a bring a smile at this moment in time…
Smile an everlasting smile
A smile can bring you near to me
Don’t ever let me find you down
‘Cause that would bring a tear to me
This world has lost its glory
Let’s start a brand new story now, my love
Right now, there’ll be no other time
And I can show you how, my love
Talk in everlasting words
And dedicate them all to me
And I will give you all my life
I’m here if you should call to me
You think that I don’t even mean
A single word I say
It’s only words and words are all I have
To take your heart away……
